ISAMPE Colloquium and Exhibition on Composites (ICEC 2024)
Composites have played a pivotal role in the past and are evolving for the next generation of technologically challenging Space Missions. The ISAMPE Thiruvananthapuram Chapter organized the ISAMPE Colloquium and Exhibition on Composites (ICEC 2024) in collaboration with Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) on 22nd and 23rd November 2024 with the theme: 'Achieving Self-Reliance in Aerospace Composites through Indigenisation, Innovation, and Industry Partnerships for Atmanirbhar Bharat'. ICEC 2024 was aligned with India's New Space Policy, aiming to bolster self-reliance, enhance industry collaboration, and drive innovation in aerospace materials and processes. ICEC 2024 served as a platform for industry leaders, researchers, experts, and student to converge on the theme of advancing aerospace applications through the strategic indigenisation of composite products. The program featured Keynote Addresses by distinguished scientists and experts in aerospace, along with Invited Lectures and Panel Discussion by leaders and innovators from the industry.
An Exhibition showcasing the latest technologies, products, and services in the field of composite materials and processes was also arranged at the VSSC which provided a valuable platform for networking and collaboration, featuring cutting-edge innovations from leading companies, research institutions, and startups, contributing to the future of aerospace applications.
The program was inaugurated by Dr. S. Unnikrishnan Nair, Director, VSSC, with the souvenir being released by Dr. V. Narayanan, Director, LPSC. Shri Padma Kumar E.S., Director, IISU, inaugurated the exhibition, which showcased cutting-edge developments in composite technology. The plenary address was delivered by Shri. Rajarajan A, Director, SDSC, SHAR & President, ISAMPE (India).
Other dignitaries in the inauguration event includes Shri Sunil P, Deputy Director, CMSE and chairman of the Organizing Committee, Dr L. Mohan Kumar, Chairman of ISAMPE Thiruvananthapuram Chapter, and Dr Aravind Jithin A J, Convenor of the Organizing Committee.
